A native wasp has nailed a large spider and is struggling with it. There are a number of species of hunting wasps in New Zealand, and it looks like the spider is in for a miserable end to its existence - being paralysed and slowly eaten by the wasp larvae. Hi Gusdog, Tussock is an excellent place to hunt. Great variety. Plenty of deer in all sorts of places: head of mangatainoka stream, the ridge bhind the hut which leads up to the big windfall at the head of the valley, tussock saddle and the valleys/gullies running into Boyd valley.
